Three short artcles taken from the ILN as follows; 1. "Superb Gold Watch Presented to Lord Dudley Coutts Stuart, by the Poles." A description and illustration of this watch made by Patek & Co. and presented to Lord Dudley by emigree Poles "as a token of gratitude for the services rendered by his Lordship to the cause of their country." The watch is a repeating keyless pocket chronometer. The dial features the Coat of Arms of Poland and the numerals are replaced with symbols of the provinces of Poland. 2. "Chronometer Watch made for an Indian Prince" Description with 2 illustrations of a highly decorative hunter pocket chronometer made by Messrs. McCabe and Co., the case decorated with diamonds, rubies and emeralds. The watch was made for the Maha Rao Rajah Serwaee Burmeh Singh Bahadoor, Walee of Alwur. 3. "Memorials of Sir Isaac Newton." A brief notice with illustration of a gift to the Royal Society of the watch belonging to Sir Isaac Newton, given to him by his niece, Catherine Conduit. The illustration shows a repousse cased watch, the repousse scene including St Paul's Cathedral with, possibly, the portrait of Sir Christopher Wren.
