Over 2 pages of text, the author describes the performance of the Free pendulums at Greenwich up to 1929 and the search for even greater improvements in rate. Included is a list of 37 Observatories which have installed Shortt Free Pendulums, with two illustrations. The author concludes, "That is the position to-dat after five years' experience of the Free Pendulum at Greenwich, and it indicates that the clock can keep time to within a second in a year on its own dead reckoning."
