The concluding paragraph describes the innovation as follows; "a new astronomical instrument or watch which possesses the property of ascertaining and recording the precise moment of any desired observation, or series of observations, by means of marks or dots imprinted upon a dial or plate, whither the same be effected by the dial or plate revolving and the marking point remaining stationary, or by the marking point revolving and the dial or plate remaining stationary."
