A quotation from John Foster of 12, Mayes St., Dantzic St., Manchester addressed to Mr Fairbrother and dated (possibly, a little unclear), Nov. 25th, 1890. Description of "best Quality Dead Beat and Maint'ng Power Turret Timepiece". After description, two prices quoted for different specifications (timepiece or clock), 26 pounds and 35 pounds. Ends concerning bronze bell, price "according to the price of copper at time of ordering".

A typewritten translation from a manuscript written by the 16th century astronomer, Jacob Cuno of Frankfurt The text gives a full description of this highly complex astronomical clock and ends, "And I have no doubt that this my Automaton will be assigned to sacred buildings in which it will be guarded as a treasure, and an honour to the town itself, and will be esteemed by all connoisseurs".
