A report of the lecture given to the Society by Charles Mason on May 6th, 1762.

Concerns the clock taken to the Cape of Good Hope for observations and which was set up on St Helena on the journey back to Britain.  The Rev, Mr Maskelyne assisted with the observations.

Five pages of charts follow detailing the performance of the clock.

There follows "An Account of Mr Mason's Paper, concerning the Going of Mr Elliott's Clock, at St Helena: by James Short," read to the Society on May 13th, 1762.
