Hand written letter in ink together with notes on H. Alan Lloyd's article in Dec. 1944 Horological Journal. "500 Years of Precision Time-Keeping". Comments on Flamsteed's clocks and the questionable usefulness of year duration clocks. Enquires about the numbering of Graham's clocks at Greenwich. (Pencilled note by C. Ilbert) Concludes by speculating on the reaction to his notes (I suppose I will be slaughtered for this - ) In a post script, DT enquires about a chronometer by Wm. Hardy owned by CI and any connection between Hardy and Charles Young.

Mostly concerned with the work of Paul Ditisheim as follows; The date when PD gave up watch manufacturing; his watches in the NPL trials during the 1920s; the type of balances used in these watches; his watches sprung by W.A.Dubois; Dubois and the Solvil Co.; the date PD left the Solvil Co and began manufacturing oils; the different oils manufactured DT continues with his recollections of the other Ditisheim brothers, Henri (maker of "pendulettes"), Georges and Maurice; his many meetings with Henri in La Chaux-de Fonds.
