Know Your Terminology - Wrist Watches

When trying to explain about a wrist watch to other repairers and supply houses, it is essential that you use the correct terminology. To help you the following diagrams are cutaways of a very simple type of wrist watch.

Going Train

The 'Going train' is the set of gears that transmit the power from the mainspring to the escapement. This in turn drives the 'Motion Work' that turns the hands.
