To check the timing of a clock or watch, you need to know the beats per hour. This page will allow you to enter the wheel counts and then it will show the beats per hour. There is no error checking, so make sure you enter the correct figures.

For a 3-wheel train, enter the teeth=pinion for the wheel not required.

The formula used for beats per minute =(EW x FW x TW x CW x 2)/(EP x FP x TP x 60).

Enter counts for:-
Escape wheel teeth (EW) pinion (EP) Fourth wheel teeth (FW) pinion (FP) (* See Note)
Third wheel teeth (TW)   pinion (TP)
Centre wheel teeth (CW)
(* If you don't have a 4th wheel in your clock train leave the values as 1)
